We were commissioned by Get Living to oversee the full preconstruction and construction phases for the replacement of non-compliant cladding and balcony decking on three blocks at Elephant Central. Our role focused on ensuring compliance with safety regulations under the Building Safety Act through meticulous technical validation, comprehensive cost management, and accurate regulatory submissions.

We were commissioned by Simarc to manage all stages of the Cladding Safety Scheme (CSS) application for the replacement of the combustible external wall insulation system and timber cladding at Kleine Wharf. The project aimed to address recommendations from the fire risk assessment and external wall review, ensuring the building complies with current safety standards and the Building Safety Act.

Role: Lead Architect at RIBA Stage 4  

Practice: Archiflair Design + Private Collaboration 


Demolition and reconstruction behind the retained front façade and party walls, incorporating sustainable design principles. The project includes modifications to the front fenestration, the addition of a highly energy-efficient basement, a mansard roof, and rear extensions at the ground and first-floor levels. An air source heat pump will be installed in the rear basement lightwell to enhance energy efficiency. The design is meticulously planned to meet the EnerPHit standard, ensuring exceptional thermal performance and reduced carbon emissions
